§1 Publish a custom App

After you submit the basic information for your custom app in Partner Center and establish your workspace, complete the required launch prerequisites before you publish. In most custom app cases, the minimum prerequisite is registration review. Additional reviews may be required depending on your app category, target market, API scope, and seller authorization scale. Click Publish after the required prerequisites are complete. Publishing makes your custom app live and generates the Authorize link, which you can copy and share with eligible sellers individually. The Authorize link is how a seller authorizes and connects their shop with your app. Custom apps are not publicly available on the TikTok Shop (TTS) App and Service Store, so you do not need to provide public listing information unless you convert the app to a public app later.

§2 Custom app launch checklist

Before you publish a custom app, confirm the following:

  1. Pass registration review. Registration review is the initial Partner Center review of your app or service registration and basic information before launch. Complete it from the app and service detail checklist when Partner Center shows the step. Review timing can vary by market, category, and submission status.
  2. Complete any required compliance and legal review. This may apply depending on your category, market, API scopes, data access, or onboarding requirements.
  3. Complete app review and beta testing if your app falls under the Connector category.
  4. Complete app review if your custom app reaches 25 or more seller authorizations.
  5. Confirm that the Authorize link is available and that your redirect URL, scopes, and webhook settings are ready for seller authorization.

Most custom apps do not need public-app listing review or language listing review. However, custom apps in the Connector category, custom apps with 25 or more seller authorizations, or apps that Partner Center flags for additional review must complete the required review steps before broader use. §5 Convert your custom app to a public app

If your published custom app can offer value to sellers outside its original seller scope, you can convert it to a public app when the Upgrade to Public Service entry is available in Partner Center. Converting to public allows your app to become discoverable on the TikTok Shop App and Service Store after all required reviews pass. If you do not see the Upgrade to Public Service entry, check that the custom app has already been published and that your account, market, app category, and app status are eligible. If the entry is still unavailable, contact Partner Center Support or your Partner Development & Management contact to confirm whether conversion is supported for your case. Important:

  • You cannot upgrade a custom app to public if you have not published the custom app yet.
  • You cannot change the target seller fields, including market and seller type, when converting the app type from custom to public.
  • You must fill in all required language listings before submitting the custom app for upgrade review.
  • The app type remains custom until the app passes the upgrade review and the reviews for all selected markets.

§6 Next Steps

After publishing the custom app, share the Authorize link with eligible sellers and monitor the seller authorization count. If the app is a Connector app, reaches 25 or more seller authorizations, or is ready for public distribution, follow the review or upgrade steps shown in Partner Center.
