资料正文

§1 What is changing?

Starting November 1, 2026, product information used for EU customs declaration must include valid Product Identifier (PID) information for goods shipped from outside the EU directly to consumers in EU markets. For each applicable product, the platform will provide M-PID. Partners must provide at least one merchant-managed identifier through the following product attributes:

  • Seller SKU, which maps to NS-PID
  • Product Identifier, which maps to S-PID

Important: Seller SKU (NS-PID) and Product Identifier (S-PID) are alternative required fields. At least one of the two must be provided.

§3 Format requirements

Format requirements

Seller SKU / NS-PID should follow these rules:

  • Use letters and numbers only.
  • Do not use Chinese characters, spaces, or special characters such as -, /, _, or ..
  • Keep the value between 6 and 50 characters.
  • Make sure the identifier matches the actual declared product and remains traceable.

Product Identifier / S-PID should follow the recognised international standard applicable to the product category.

#

§4 Who is affected?

This update affects Global Selling Platform Open Plan (GSPOP) sellers, partners, and integrators whose product information may be used for shipments from outside the EU to EU consumers, especially those who create, maintain, or sync product attributes through listing tools, ERP systems, or API integrations.

#

§5 What action is required?

  1. Review products intended for EU-bound orders and identify records with missing or invalid PID information.
  2. Ensure that at least one of the following fields is populated with a valid value: Seller SKU (NS-PID) or Product Identifier (S-PID).
  3. For new products, start following this rule from September 1, 2026 before listing.
  4. For existing products, complete data checks and remediation before the end of October 2026 to reduce listing and customs clearance risk.
#

§6 What are the risks if no action is taken?

What are the risks if no action is taken?

  • New products may fail listing checks if the required identifier information is not ready.
  • Existing products may be subject to temporary platform controls by the end of October 2026 if required information is still missing.
  • From November 1, 2026, missing or invalid PID information may cause customs declaration issues, customs clearance failure, import rejection, and related logistics loss.
#

§7 General recommendation

General recommendation

  • If a standardised identifier already exists, populate Product Identifier (S-PID) to improve customs data accuracy.
  • If no standardised identifier is available, maintain a valid Seller SKU (NS-PID) that meets the required format.
  • If you manage product data through integrations, update validation and sync logic early to avoid last-minute remediation.
