[Action Required] Data Protection Policy updates

Dear Developer,

We have an important update to the Shopee Open Platform Data Protection Policy (DPP). Learn more below and find out how you should acknowledge your agreement.

Update to Shopee Open Platform Data Protection Policy (DPP)

Shopee is keeping up to date with the industry’s best practices to safeguard the personal data of our users. You can find detailed information on these additional measures under Clauses 10.6 - 10.7 within the Storage, Handling, and Disposal section of the DPP. In relation to this update, here are some important points you should take note of.

• All data shall not be stored for more than 90 days

You shall not retain or store any Personal Data and Restricted Data (including but not limited to the Customer Name, Phone Number, Email Address, and Address) that is subject to this DPP for any period of time longer than is necessary to serve the purposes of this Agreement (which, in any event, shall be no longer than ninety (90) days). Thereafter, all data must be disposed of in accordance with clause 10.7 of the DPP.

• These changes shall come into effect immediately

By continuing to access or use the Shopee Open Platform and Tools, you agree to be bound by the Terms of Use and Security Measures. If you do not agree, you must cease access to and use of the Shopee Open Platform and Tools.

FOR YOUR ACTION

1. Refer to Clause 10.6 and 10.7 for the full updated terms in the Data Protection Policy and read the updates carefully.

2. Sign in to your Shopee Open Platform account and acknowledge the DPP updates for continued access to the platform and its tools by 9 September 2022 (Friday).

Note that a penalty will be imposed if you fail to do so.
